Post Independence, the Pharmacy profession and education have undergone a tremendous change as a provider of healthcare services in India. Currently, the pharmaceutical industry is also undergoing unprecedented changes. Kumaun University took a great initiative in 1997 to start the Pharmacy course at undergraduate level catering to the needs of one of the remotest and difficult hilly terrains, with temporary setup at Chemistry PG Block at Nainital and subsequently shifted over to Bhimtal In October, 2004. Currently the department is offering Post graduate courses in four disciplines, Ph. D in various Pharmaceutical domains. The department has made phenomenal growth over a decade of existence wherein the alumni of the department has been able to man all top leading Pharmaceutical organization. Our leading Recruiters include Ranbaxy, Dr. Reddy’s Lab, Nicholas Primal, Sun Pharma, Wockhart, Asterzenca, Lupin. Our students and alumni have also been associated with several Universities and research organizations like Uttar Pradesh Technical University- Lucknow, M. P. J.
